Basic Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped or 1/2 teaspoon of italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
pinch of ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped


Procedure

Combine all the ingredients together and mix well with a fork or whisk. Makes about 1/3 cup; enough for 2 - 6 inch pizza.




Focaccia Bread Serving Ideas:

Defrost and bake the Focaccia Bread according to our directions. Allow to cool before slicing.

Our Focaccia Bread can be served with a tapenade, or just olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

For a thick crust pizza,defrost the Focaccia bread, spread with your favorite pizza sauce, feta cheese, fresh sliced tomatoes, olives and basil or any topping  of your choice, then bake for 10 to 15 minutes at  450 degree .

You may also make sandwiches or panini with our Focaccia.
Just cut the desired size and split the bread down the middle.
Toast or grill the bread and let your imagination go wild.
Here are some of our favorite fillings are:
Grilled vegetables with just a splash of balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Grilled chicken slices with provolone cheese and fresh basil with a herb mayonaise.
Asian style sandwich with thinly sliced roast pork, cilantro, and carrot and daikon slaw.


How to refresh your Focaccia Bread

If you cannot finish the whole  Focaccia Bread,  wrap it with saran wrap and keep it in your refrigerator.
There are two  ways to refresh your bread.

In the microwave:  Wrap the Focaccia Bread with a moistened paper towel and cook for 30 seconds at  a
medium setting.

In the oven:  Preheat your oven at 350 degrees, sprinkle your Focaccia Bread with water and warm the bread up for 5 to 10 minutes.
